【Student Research Scholarship on Indigenous Cultural Safety and Health Care Services is now taking application】

In order to encourage students from National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) to engage in research related to indigenous cultural safety and health care services, the “Student Research Scholarship on Indigenous Cultural Safety and Health Care Services” has been established as part of Taiwan Ministry of Education’s Third-Phase University Social Responsibility (USR) Practice Program. This program is conducted through the National Taiwan University College of Public Health as part of the USR project “Culture|Health: Integrated Project of Cultural Safety and Health Promotion”. This scholarship program supports students in the 2023/2024 first semester (from August 2023 to January 2024) to undertake research in support of a bachelor/master degree thesis, doctoral dissertation, or other research projects of similar academic rigor that are topically related to the themes of the USR project.

1. Eligibility
Applicants must be registered as bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral students at NTU or NDHU (in any department). The academic research conducted can include bachelor/master degree thesis, doctoral dissertation, or other research projects of similar academic rigor that are related to indigenous cultural safety and health care services. Applicants should not have completed their oral thesis/dissertation defense or submitted their final reports by the application deadline.

2. Award
The award amount will be determined based on the research budget proposal submitted by the applicant, with a maximum of NT$50,000.

3. Application and Review Process
Applications will be accepted from now until October 22, 2023 (based on the timestamp of the email submission). Late applications will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis during the application period, and successful applicants will be selected based on the evaluation by the project team.

4. Required Documents
A. Application form (see Appendix 1).
B. Research proposal (in either Chinese or English, including abstracts in both languages).
C. Proof of research ethics approval if applicable.
D. If research ethics approval has not been obtained or is not required, please include one recommendation letter from your advisor.
E. Proof of enrollment for the 2023/2024 first semester (from August 2023 to January 2024).
